50 blocks of Victorian architecture, shops & dining

About Historic Downtown

Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach is one of the most charming and well-preserved Victorian-era downtowns in the Southeast. Spanning 50 blocks with over 400 historic structures, Centre Street and the surrounding area offer a delightful mix of shopping, dining, history, and small-town atmosphere.

The downtown area flourished in the late 1800s when Fernandina was Florida's gateway port. Many original buildings remain, now housing boutique shops, art galleries, excellent restaurants, and local businesses that give the area its unique character.
